Srinagar, Apr 16 (KNO): Senior National Conference (NC) leader and MLA Baramulla Javid Baigh on Wednesday stressed the need for direct dialogue between Member of Parliament for Srinagar Lok Sabha constituency Aga Ruhullah Mehdi and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
MLA Baig, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), while referring to recent statements made by MP Ruhullah, wherein he had stated that he feels isolated within the party post-reservation protest in Srinagar, said, “They should meet and talk as both are towering political figures. There is no need for media bytes or mediators. They should sit and talk.”
Lauding the Job Fairness Mela, Baigh described the initiative as a significant step toward addressing unemployment challenges in the region. “This will lead to the end of unemployment issues. Everyone has to work together—whether it’s defense, civil institutions, the political front, or civil societies,” he asserted.
Calling for self-awareness among the youth, Baigh said, “The youth need to develop a self-conscious approach toward employment. Until that happens, these challenges will persist.”
On speculation regarding possible resignations of MLAs, Baigh dismissed the rumours, saying, “MLAs are not that selfish. To become an MLA is no easy task—it involves overcoming numerous challenges. There will hardly be an MLA who would betray the people’s mandate and their trust.”
“An MLA has to be answerable both here and in the hereafter. A National Conference MLA will prefer death over defection,” he said—(KNO)
